SSC (TOSS)

Telangana Open School Society:

Telangana Open School Society (TOSS) is a non-profit, charitable and Governmental Education Board, having the sole objective of providing the Examinations of Secondary School Certificate/ Open SSC/10th Class and Senior Secondary/Open Inter Examination.

At present the Board is conducting the following examinations: Examinations under Telangana Open School Society Open 10th SSC/TS 10th & Open Inter (Arts / Science).

TOSS Will Conduct Weekly Classes for Open 10th and Open Intermediate Students to clear their doubts. • Telangana Open School Society will also provide the Study Materials / TOSS Books to Self Study whenever students want.

OBJECTIVES OF TOSS:

  • To identify the educational needs of the children/persons of the State who are generally not catered to by the formal system of school education.
  • To provide opportunities for school education upto pre-degree level through open and distance learning (ODL) mode.
  • To identify the educational needs of the children/persons of the State who are generally not catered to by the formal system of school education.
  • To identify and promote standards of learning in open and distance learning system.
  • To design and develop courses, self-instructional materials (SIM) and other learning support for the courses identified at different points of time.
  • To organize orientation and training programmes for the functionaries of the open schooling system in the state.
  • To collaborate with other agencies within and outside the state for developing and delivering skill oriented courses of study.
  • To promote and publicise open schooling programmes and activities in the State.
  • To maintain standards and equivalence with formal education system, while ensuring flexible characteristics of Open Learning System.
  • To assist and advise the State Government in matters related to open schooling.

SSC-TOSS:

To obtain the pass certificate, SSC candidates must pass in a minimum of five subjects, including one or a maximum of two language papers from group ‘A’ and two subjects from group ‘B’. One can opt for one vocational subject from group ‘C’, adding up the number of subjects to five. If a candidate does not wish to opt for vocational subjects from group ‘C’, they can select the fifth subject either from group ‘A’ (limited to 2 subjects) or from group ‘B’. Candidates are free to take one additional subject as well. Thus, you can choose a maximum of six subjects altogether. Classification of subjects for academic and vocational courses of SSC is given in the following table:
